![]() The TOUR ON SATURDAY The tour on Saturday will take us through lava fields, moors and pastures in southern Iceland, and visit places such as Þingvellir and Skálholt that are important for Iceland's culture and heritage. Lunch will be served at Friðheimar, an unique, family-owned greenhouse-farm which specialises in the growing of tomatoes and vegetables and raising horses. Some historic mountains will be seen in the distance, such as Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull... On the way back to Reykjavik we will pass through small coastal villages and visit beaches where waves from the far reaches of the South Atlantic break against the rocks; the next land due south is in fact Antartica. - This will be a whole day tour. Thingvellir, nationalpark, one of UNESCO´s World Heritage Sites. PLEASE NOTICE: The tour on Saturday 14th June will cost around 15.000 ISKR (97 EUR). Included: Bus, guide, picnic/snacks, coffee, lunch, entrance to Friðheimar ... and many more (even surprises ...). Your registration for the tour, included in the registration form, confirms your participation, which is none-reversible after the 20th May. So please let us know if you have changed your mind since your registration. You will be charged for the trip as you´ll sign in to the conference on Thursday, the 12th June. We can unfortunately not accept credit cards so cash are highly appreciated :-) And to those of you who travel with your friend or partner: they are very welcome to take part in the tour - of course! So, just let us know - if you have not already done so to: [email protected] Your partners are also welcome to attend the dinner on Friday night but have to pay for it individually. And an alternative for those who want a shorter trip (on their own):
„The Golden circle“: Þingvellir – Gullfoss – Geysir The bus leaves 3-4 times daily from the bus terminal and the trip takes 5-6 hrs. The Blue Lagoon The bus leaves every hour from the bus terminal. You can also stop there on your way back to the airport and take a flybus from there. |
