The TOUR ON SATURDAY
The tour on Saturday will take us through lava fields, moors and pastures in southern Iceland, and visit places such as Þingvellir and Skálholt that are important for Iceland's culture and heritage. Lunch will be served at Friðheimar, an unique, family-owned greenhouse-farm which specialises in the growing of tomatoes and vegetables and raising horses. Some historic mountains will be seen in the distance, such as Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull... On the way back to Reykjavik we will pass through small coastal villages and visit beaches where waves from the far reaches of the South Atlantic break against the rocks; the next land due south is in fact
Antartica. - This will be a whole day tour.
Thingvellir, nationalpark, one of UNESCO´s World Heritage Sites.
The tour on Saturday 14th June will cost around 15.000 ISKR (97 EUR). Included: Bus, guide, picnic/snacks, coffee, lunch, entrance to Friðheimar ... and many more (even surprises ...).
